3 No’s: Creative fish barbecue with No oil, No smoke, and No odor!

When I grill fish in my home, I've heard great complaints from family.
The smoke was all over the house, the fishy smell stayed for a week.
I agreed and promised I would use the Korean picnic gas burner in the backyard.

How do you grill fish in your home?

But in fact, is not easy to do. Right?
I hate nagging and listening, especially to me. Lol.
Since then I just boil or stew the fish.
If I really want to have a grilled fish then
I set the pan on a low temperature and cook slowly.
That was a good idea too.

Well, what if I really want Korean style grilled fish like Mackerels?

I came up with this:
I use some leftover herbal tea ingredients as charcoal
such as large size dried fruits, roots or barks with no cooking oil.

Set the wet tea ingredients on an oven sheet and pour a cup of water over it.
Then I used wire like a grill on it.
It seemed healthier than even cooked professionally.
No one wants oil, smoke, or a funky odor in a home.
This is a neat idea because it is easy to clean up after grilling.

3 No’s: Creative fish barbecue with No oil, No smoke, and No odor!

Ingredients (2 servings for meal)
2 fresh or frozen mackerel (or your favorite fish),
slightly seasoned with sea salt,
dried herbs and turmeric powder,
Fresh, sliced garlics.

Substitute material as charcoal:
left over herbal tea ingredients such as large dried fruits, roots or barks.

Tips.
I sprinkled coarse sea salt first,
then my home-made turmeric-herbal salt on the fish.
Turmeric is known as a chimeric anti-inflammatory herb.
I have often used turmeric powder when cooking.

1) Cut the mackerel in half with a knife and take out internals.
Sprinkle with coarse sea salt, Turmeric powder, and powdered herbs.

2) Set the wet tea ingredients on an oven sheet and pour a cup of water over it.
Place the wire like a grill over the ingredients and water.

3) Set the fish and grill in the preheated oven at 375 F for about 20 minutes
or until cooked inside and crispy outside.
No need to flip if cooked enough.
Add more water into the oven sheet if necessary.

Tips: I set the sliced garlic on the fish in the middle of grilling
and cook extra for 5 minutes to finish in 400 F broiler

The last visual is just like this.

Add your favorite sauce on the fish.

With homemade pickled Korean radishes
and strawberry flavored water.

No need to clean up.
I just dumped to the fireplace in my backyard.
